Congrats to the 2002 Super Bowl Champs The Tampa Bay Buccaneers on there 12-4 season mark and for having one of the best defenses to play in professional football history. Our Patriots finished this year with a 9-7 record and narrowly missing the playoffs. The Patriots started off the year with a 3-0 record proving to the league that they deserved to be the Super Bowl champs, but then teams started recognizing the run defense was not performing up to par and began to exploit it. Injuries also played a key part in this years lack-luster finish. Troy was injured leaving Tom Brady with out a go-to guy until Deion Branch began to step up and tried to fill the void. The Pats at 8-5 needed to win three games to make the playoffs but could only manage 1 leaving with their only hope at the playoffs a Jets lose in the last week of the season, but the red-hot jets won leaving the pats out of the play-offs and waiting for the draft and next season.
